As we all know, the charging pile is a charging facility for "refueling" electric vehicles, which is called "off board charger". Charging pile is divided into AC charging pile and DC charging pile. What is the difference between AC pile and DC pile?
1、 What is a charging pile
The function of the charging pile is similar to that of the fuel dispenser in the gas station. It can be fixed on the ground or wall, installed in public buildings (public buildings, shopping malls, public parking lots, etc.) and residential parking lots or charging stations, and can charge various types of electric vehicles according to different voltage levels. The input end of the charging pile is directly connected with the AC power grid, and the output end is equipped with a charging plug for charging the electric vehicle.
At present, the charging pile is divided into AC charging pile and DC charging pile. The AC pile outputs single-phase / three-phase AC and converts it into DC through the on-board charger to charge the on-board battery. The power is generally small (7KW, 22KW, 40kW, etc.) and the charging speed is generally slow. Therefore, it is generally installed in the parking lot of the community.
Generally speaking, the DC charging pile is rough (because there are a certain number of AC-DC power modules inside, the higher the power, the more the number of modules, the larger the pile), and the AC charging pile is small. The more obvious difference is that the gun head (charging line) is different. The DC charging pile is a 9-wire plug and the AC charging pile is a 7-wire plug.
The DC charging pile (or off-board charger) directly outputs DC power to the on-board battery for charging. The power is large (60kW, 120kw, 200kW or even higher) and the charging speed is fast. Therefore, it is generally installed in the charging station next to the expressway.
So how to judge whether a pile is a DC pile or an AC pile from the appearance of the pile?
2、 Charging line of DC charging pile
L DC power line: DC +, DC -;
L equipment ground wire: PE;
L charging communication line: S +, s -;
L charging connection confirmation line: CC1, CC2;
L low voltage auxiliary power line: a +, a -.

3、 Charging line of AC charging pile
L AC power lines: L1, L2, L3;
L equipment ground wire: PE;
L center line: n;
L connection confirmation line: CC;
L control guide line: CP.
The AC charging pile charges the electric vehicle through these seven wires.
